Well, it's been a really tough few days. My little buddy, Charlie passed away this weekend. He was always next to my desk while I made my art since I picked him up from a reptile show in Ohio. I remember the moment clearly when I picked him up, sat him on my arm and then I knew his name was Charlie and he was coming home with me. After running to the ATM down the road I came back and he was all packed up in his plastic travel bowl and away we went.
This little scrawny lizard grew up into a pleasantly plump yellow bearded dragon with a personality I had never thought lizards were capable of. He really left an impact, he was truly one of my muses and I'm going to miss the hell out of him. I have planned to create a portrait of the two of us in the style of my muse illustrations with his ashes mixed into the paint. I'll post it as soon as its done. I'm considering making prints to raise money for reptile rescue organizations. You all know how much I love charities!
On the topic of charities, I'm happy to announce the previous posts' greyhound painting was auctioned off at $1000 with 100% of that going to the Manchester Animal Rescue League. :)
Ending this post with probably one of the cutest pictures of Charlie P. Pancake :)
