Boston Comic Con 2010 report, And now C2E2!

So This last Boston Comic Con was AMAZING. (Photo evidence at the awesome that is Jim Lee, taken with my friend Pat)
I got to meet so many cool people, get portfolio critiques from some huge influences of mine,
(holy crap, Skottie Young, Jim Lee and Sergio Aragones!) And got to meet Amber Benson (Tara from Buffy) She was so sweet too, despite my huge geek out. >.<
And I got the opportunity to donate a cover sketch to the Inkwell Awards! It's up on ebay for you to purchase and support this foundation!

Anyway, this weekend I'm off to Chicago to C2E2! I'll be sharing a table so I 'll probably just be bringing prints and the sketch book. But I had so many extra stickers that I might be giving some of those out too.
But Yeah!
If you're in the Chicago area, come say Hi! It should be a pretty bitchin show!

Boston Comic Con's A-comin'!

Hey Everyone!
So I hope you're getting ready for Boston Comic Con April 10-11! You are? Good!
It's going to be a blast. I have just about everything to have a pretty kickin table. Like oh...Merchandise! Plus a shiny new banner with Phoenix on it. ^_^ Hoorah!

So yeah, I saw "How To Train Your Dragon" this weekend...ohhhh twice. Once in 3-d and once in 2-d. 3-D was AMAZING. The flying scenes were epic, the story executed beautifully, the character design= amazing. Toothless is one of the best characters I've ever seen. Seriously, the cuteness to scary ratio on that guy: perfectly even. Plus he looks kinda like a mix between a cat and my pet bearded dragon, Charlie (take a look at my facebook gallery to see him!) But yeah, amazing. It seriously is tied with Jurassic Park as my favorite movie. And I LOVE JP. So, if you haven't seen it, perhaps you weren't swayed by the commercials (which I don't think do the movie justice) perhaps you say to yourself "Puh-sha! Dragons! Mere Child's play! I am far too sophisticated and stiff lipped for that nonsense!" But for the love of GAWD. Go see this movie. I cried like 4 times. >.< Not sad really, just moving. I've been gushing about this movie for days. Gush Gush Gush. ....That's a weird word. Anyway! I've been working far too late lately and now I need to be unconscious. Goodnight!

Interview on SigmateStudio.com!

Hey Guys!
My interview with Sigmate Studio just went up! Check it out!
http://sigmatestudio.com/
Also, finished some new art recently adding to the Line-werk Icons: Phoenix. Sketches: Shaak- Ti, and Paleo-Femmes: a new Camarasaurus piece in graphite.
I'm planning on busting out a couple more pieces to make into prints before the giant convention tsunami that is April. (Don't freak out...don't freak out...) So hopefully a movie version Hit-Girl will just make it. I will also be trying to concentrate on more dinosaurs to be ready for when the ad in the next Prehistoric Times is published. I'm thinking the inkwerk section is going to get mighty filled up soon. Speaking of soon, the store WILL be going up, I swear! Until then if you need a print o' mine (and you know you do...you know, nothing brightens up a study quite like the Rocketeer! or a giant Carnotaurus!) Hop on over to Comic Art House!

Well I gots me some work in the mornin'. Goodnight everyone!

Cheshire Cat Contest Entry

Gooooood Evening...
So I've been a bit busy these past few days. I stumbled upon a contest from Sketchaholic in which Kei Acedera will be looking at submissions of interpretations of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. "So!" Says I, "Why the hell not? That will be quite fun! (Chortle, Guffaw Guffaw!)" So I thought and thought on how I should go about doing this and like all good ideas it came in the shower. And here it is. I'm really happy how the colors came out. I wish I would've made his head a bit more floaty, but I'm happy with it! I really can't wait for the movie. I think Helena Bonham Carter's giant head might be a little freaky though...

Anyway, The voting for the Cheshire Cat contest starts Thursday Feb. 18 and ends Feb. 19th, please check out the entries and vote on your favorite! There are a lot of impressive pieces of work!

Busy Busy!

Hey Everybody!
Been a while since I updated. I've just been really busy and got another cold. Hooo-rah. I love not being able to breathe out of my nose. >.< Anyway, just finished a commission so I thought I'd throw it up. (That sounded a little gross given the current health thing....yeah.) Another little tidbit! The store should be opening up soon, I'll be having some really nice prints come in soon!
Oh and I'm totally going to C2E2 to share a table with some crazy good artist buddies, hope to see some of you there, come say hi!
The new piece is from and anime called "Get Backers" featuring the main characters, Ban and Ginji. It's a fun series, haven't watched it in forever though.
Peace!

My Little Rocketeer kick.

Hey people,
So somehow I've managed to miss watching one of the coolest movies ever, and I'm not talking about The Land Before Time this time, yeah, it's The Rocketeer. I don't know how I missed this but I finally watched it and was on a Rocketeer kick for the last week. I found a place that makes the jacket, and I have labeled it my birthday present to me. Rockin.' So check out the gallery (Linewerk- Icons) for new Rocketeer pics and an Alphonse Elric (Full Metal Alchemist) piece. Cause I gotta get an anime portfolio going, and seriously, who doesn't love Al?
Also, I've been inspired to make a Back To The Future piece and have a percentage of the print sales donated to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. That man is possibly one of the greatest creatures on this planet. Fer real.

Anyway, after spending most of my holiday vacation from work being sick, I'm going to end it with bombing the crap out of my system with some Vitamin C. x.X Later guys!

Bastion's 7 Contest Entry!

Hey Everyone!
Hope everyone had a great holiday. Mine was awesome, got to see friends and family I haven't hung out with for a while because of work. But I was also keeping busy.
A few days ago on Deviant Art I heard about a contest involving Sean 'Cheeks' Galloways "Bastion's 7" characters and being a huge fan of his work, (don't even get me started on the character designs for Spectacular Spiderman) I busted my ass to get a piece done. (See left)
You can see my piece and all the other entries on Schoolism.com (register, then go to the "TV" tab and then to "upload and vote") Voting on pieces starts Monday 12/28 at noon and runs till Tuesday 12/29 at noon.
Other than that I did some sketching today (check out the "sketches" gallery...Listened to a lot of Flight of the Conchords so I ended up drawing an adorable Brett and Jemaine. And a Lady Gaga, 'cuz....ya know...it's Lady Gaga and I've had "Bad Romance" stuck in my head for the better part of a week.
So past that I'm currently working on an Alphonse Elric picture to get ready for a couple anime conventions I have tables at. All's I got on the anime side of work is Vash, so I gotsta get crackin' there. I do have a Sailor Moon (Super S: Dem's bows be pretty.) almost done, but it needs tweaking. And as always I'm trying to get some Paleo-Femmes underway so possible costumes can be made from those designs. I swear I'm having nightmares over casting up the skulls.
Ra-ra-a-a-a Roma-Ro-Ma-Ma Gaga Ooh- La-La...
